Unless the amazon version is the same as the steam version you need to get it off steam.

From what i remember all copies will give u access to a steam account, just click the trendy net option and it should tell u what to do

They still work, just buy it off of amazon and take the activation code from your amazon site and activate it on steam and download it from steam

this. I bought an extra account to use as a bank and it works like a charm. You don't get the tf or portal stuff. You get a special pet instead. Instead of using the amazon installer, just go to digital orders for the cd key. The enter it into steam. That's pretty much it. Works great.
