Would anybody like to see a sequel to Dungeon Defenders when the rumored next generation consoles come out? They will most likely have significantly improved specs therefore allowing them to be able to run more effectively. Along with a few years under there belt at that point i have a feeling that a sequel could end up being a good idea. Not right now of course because this game is still in full swing, but do you think this would be a good idea at a later time?
Imagine what they could do with a few years and new and improved consoles.
(Don't quote me on this, but read through the article posted below and we could end up with consoles with 8 to 16 times the power of current consoles.)

dont expect ps4 or xbox 720 or what ever they r going to be called until like 2015... or maybe late 2014. Also that article saying 320gb is the upper limit for console memory is a load of %$%^&*£& . i currently have a 1TB HDD inside my PS3. and also saying about expect around 2, 4 or maybe even 6GB RAM in your next gen console... consoles right now have 256mb RAM dedicated (PS3) and 512MB shared (xbox360) these console came out WAY after i bought a gaming laptop (around 2 years)and even then that had 2GB ram, and that was considered high amount of RAM at the time. now a good amount of RAM is considered to be around the 8GB mark, so im not even expecting anything more than 1GB of RAM in next gen consoles.

I do not understand where you got your logic from saying things like "TE left us high and dry" and "TE does not support DD for consoles" when
A. There are still the other 3 Qftles DLC.
B. There is the upcoming patch that is coming out Simultaneously with the Qftles Part 2 DLC which the patch will contain even more progression to DD (Character levels raised to 78, Higher level items corresponding with the higher character levels, etc).
C. TE are obviously still supporting DD for consoles since they are still putting out DLC and patches.
If you are considering using the DLC news about console players not getting PC-only content as your argument, then that is absolutely ridiculous since your statement has no merit about TE supporting consoles.

While a sequel would be nice I think it's a little too soon to be thinking about that. Also I'd be nice to keep the current generation of consoles for a bit longer. While the wii is pretty much dead with the wiiu coming out, and I hope that dies pretty quick too, the ps3 and 360 are doing well.

I do not think next gen consoles will be able to do anything different than current gen pc's
so don't get hyped for no reason
All I want, and I ll be really gratefull and uber thrilled if it happens,
is to be able to play DunDef on my PS Vita, without having to re-purchase it from the store
give me this and I ll be your most happy fan

I do agree with Dredd on this one.. (surprisingly) :^) But many people who do not have PC are yet to realize the problems with it. It is not as good as you think. I mean yes they do have more updates and exclusive items but they are always changing something. They have not set ways that they play.. You have to farm so much more. In PC there is no perfect because perfect is always getting higher and harder to get. And whoever does go to PC good luck getting Super loot in the first place. There is a huge wall in between the people who can beat Insane only and people who can beat Nightmare. Yes i have PC and i am glad to say i like console better. Sorry for the off topic comments but i just wanted to set everything straight for everyone, and hopefully you guys will believe me and stay on console.. Back on topic now!

Which is why you will make an awesome Mod.
Regardless I don't think we'll see a DD sequel anytime soon. Trendy has not shown us they are done with DD and the game hasn't even been out a year. Believe it or not but sequels aren't always mandatory nor are they suppose to be out only a year after the original releases.

@OP
Anyway, current gen computers are already 20x (or more) the power of current consoles, so I'd hope that the consoles would be significantly more powerful than just 8x-16x the power. But I'd rather just have DD be supported for a bit more.
As for the Vita, apparently Sony is going to make it so that you'll be able to play any PS3 game via remote play on it. Not necessarily the perfect solution, but until it's officially released...

Original launch PS3: $599.99
Desktop I built a few months ago: $624.99
I must point out that my case was $94.99 of that.
AMD Phenom II X4 3.2GHz CPU, Gigabyte AM3+ Crossfire MB, 8GB 1600 RAM, 550W PSU, 1TB HDD, and a Radeon HD 6850 GPU.
Compared to my PS3 for about the same price. Just making point.

It's alright for a moderate gaming rig.
If you know how to build a computer you can easily save a lot of cash. Honestly I could build a small and portable computer with $300 that would run games better than consoles nowadays.

You need to remember though that consoles are loss leaders, thus, you're probably going to be looking at the $1000-$1200 range for components. I mean, with the die shrinks, I wouldn't be surprised to see a custom Ivy Bridge.
I was actually hoping to upgrade to one until my PC decided to die a horrible death this weekend, forcing a premature upgrade. Using my Mac until then, albeit, I'm surprised how well Dungeon Defenders runs through virtualization with Parallels. Sure, I could use Bootcamp, but I hate having to reboot when the game is just a click away.

Sony PSVita's psn setting is garbage. One PSV is bound to 1 PSN account(tightly coupled).
What it means is that if you are outside of North America atm, but bought DD with a NA acount and you are playing it on your local account. (i.e. not the NA account) Be aware that you will not be able to do the same on the PSVita. If you purchase a game with a NA account, then you will have to play on the NA account. Your local account will not be able to access the game content, even if you dont disable your NA account for your PSV device.

no, its not like that, if it were I would be extremely happy.
Although SONY has said that we would be able to play all our games to the vita from our ps3, not until recently they commented through a twitter comment that this will not be the case and not all titles will be supported, not saying if this is for retail or psn titles, and the only games supported thus far are, minis and PSone titles.
Even Killzone 3 which was advertised to be played on the vita via remote play on the E3, gives you an error message of not supported title if you try to play it via remote play.
As a lot of users have said on the eu.playstation.blog, SONY has let it to the developers if they are going to enable remote play or not
I do not know which is the truth, thats why a lot of users including me have asked from SONY to clarify on this, but SONY hasnt commented
its psp all over again

I have the PSVita on hand atm, and I couldn't do anything with remote play, since most of my PS1 classics are on my US account and I register my Vita on my JP account. If I were to switch back and forth from accounts, then I will need to format the PSV everytime I want to switch.

I understand what you are saying and I kind of agree, however I don't think they left us "high and dry" on purpose, I just don't think they were well equipped to deal with console issues like they do for PC.
I couldn't say yes or no right now seeing as that it is a few years in a future, I probably wouldn't buy the console right after release anyway and if trendy were to release something they probably learned a lot from this one. Maybe they would even choose to do PC only.

While you have a point, remember that you cannot build your own PS3.
But honestly the RAM, case and GPU were the only pieces not retail price.
That's the whole argument though. Consoles are an easy position for people to obtain and use where they don't have to worry about what will or will not run on it.

I probably won't buy the game day one on the console either, i will probably wait a few months to see if they did in fact learn from this game. Or they could do PC only like you said if they haven't learned from this. All in all i will probably take similar precautions before buying another one of this companies games. I learned that from CoD, done buying those games.

In all honesty every game purchase should be well-researched and you should know what you are getting within the purchase.
Personally I think there is too much impulse buying with digital goods. If more people took the stance to know what they are buying, I think a lot of people wouldn't be in a situation where they feel cheated.

Agreed. This is one of the reasons i don't have a gaming computer, they're always changing. Which isn't a bad thing, I just don't have the kind of money to keep up.

I think it probably has to do with the psychology of digital goods. As much as we complain about being nickel and dimed to death, we tend to not think of spending $1 50 times, whereas we notice spending $50 1 time.
As much as research might help, it's a constant struggle between the consumer and the producer on how best to relieve the other of as much money as possible.

Ironically the downside to consoles is the inability to upgrade any of the hardware. Really is a double-edged sword. Until they can strike a balance between price, hardware and lifetime of consoles, consoles will always be the cheaper and easier gaming platform than PC.

DD is $15 retail. That's also 1.47 gallons of gas, a two person two-dish w/rice at Chao Cajin, roughly 5-6 gallons of milk, about 3 cartons of cigarettes, about five value meals at McDonalds, 1-2 shirts at WalMart, or one male haircut w/tip.
People do not fully understand how much they get out of games compared to other goods.
Don't even get me started on their inability to comprehend different gaming platforms.

It is quite interesting. We are so short sighted we see something for a few bucks and thinks what a great deal. We do this numerous times and never seem to be able to add it up. Paired with the increasing ease of purchasing digital goods, specifically cellphone games/apps, it is a very successful strategy.

In the US maybe. In Australia it's also $15 (for me anyway with the US account, was more like $14.50). That's equivalent too;
10L of petrol
15L of milk
1 carton of Cigarettes
2 Maccas value meals
1 shirt at the cheap supermarket
1/2 a haircut
1 entrée at an average restaurant.
6 loaves of bread
Put simply DD is cheaper than so many "single use products", even more so in Aus.

The fun part is that US minimum wage is about $7.25 lowest between the states. AU has what, $14-$15 minimum wage?
DD is equivalent to 1 AU hour working minimum wage, but worth 2 US hours working minimum wage.
I can't really find a good way to describe what playtime is worth. Sure, I have spend 100 hours playing DD, but what does that equate to exactly? That 100 hours is just a number btw. I can't honestly say how much I've played thus far.

Coming from someone who has played all versions of this game and clocked over 2000 hours yet only paid $35 for all versions I'm pretty satisfied with my purchases.

What does any of this talk about who's played more time or how much stuff costs have anything to do with the OPs thread?
But anyways, since we're off topic.
Dungeon Defenders was released on October 18th/19th. As of today it has been about 122 days since the release. 122 days x 24 hours = 2928 hours. So it has been approximately 2928 hours since the release of the game......and you are claiming to have played for over 2000 hours of the 2928. If we divide 2000 by 122 days, that means you play DD approximately 16.4 hours EACH day nonstop. That only gives you 7.6 hours to eat, sleep, play with your kids, wife, girlfriend, complete a full time job....etc. That is a little scary to me.....but its not my life so its all good. Congrats on your accomplishments :)

You seem incapable of reading. I said across all versions of the game. Mobile has been out for 14 months. Let's assume that's 424 days. 424 x 24 = 10,176. That's a modest 5 hours a day if only playing on one device, I have 7 devices with DD loaded from mobiles to PC and console. I'll let you figure out the rest.
