View Full Version : Slower projectile speed in NM?

I just started doing NM recently and noticed my huntress' weapon projectile speed is noticeably slower. It's kind of aggravating really because it feels like as I'm advancing in this game I'm really just going backwards. You do less damage in NM, that's reasonable though because it's either less hero damage or more monster health. You lose a lot of resistances, you repair slower (at least it seems as if I'm repairing slower), it seems you just do everything much worse in NM. Was it really necessary to lower projectile speed as well?

I just hope they don't cut down how many shots per second we do in NM as well, or reduce our ammo by 4/5ths. I betterstop before I give them any ideas...

Rather than make a whole new thread about this I'm now curious as to what projectile speed people prefer for their weapons in NM? I found 10k to be pretty good and most people I see seem to have this amount as well but I was just in a game with someone that had 21k. Unless the weapon came with such a high speed (I have yet to find one with that much naturally) that seems like a bit overkill to me.

Wasn't just huntress, and yes it's pretty annoying. Now you have to hope for absurdly good projectile speed on your drops as well as everything else being good.

I just got a pet reward after patch that had 50,000+ projectile speed default and 186 upgrades, and 4000+ damage starting out for a pet.. I am guessing based on this that new weapon drops are going to have very high projectile speed as well. Where 30,000-> 50,000 may be normal default speed. not sure though.

I like to max proj speed. It's important for me to know something I shoot will die. It goes up very fast, and the reward, to me, is always much greater than the few levels i lose on damage.

While its true that max speed is lowered, as an added perk there is also a minimal speed! Some of my favorite joke weapons have around -4000 projectile speed which in the tavern is pretty hilarious to watch, but in nightmare they fire as if they had no penalty at all.

Pretty sure that's a bug, actually. I remember before they reduced NM proj. speed negative values worked exactly the same in NM, but afterwords everything under 0 just worked as 0. I'm pretty sure that the math (projectile speed bonuses reduced by 80%) just doesn't play well with negative numbers.
