251^ Frost Blade - what about it?!

Hey,

there is alot of Frost Blade trading going on, and I wonder why - whats the speciality of a frostblade?

I just found a high ^ Frost Blade (medium size) on my own and am really interested whats the value and the use of it.

As I understand it (not having one myself) it swings roughly twice as fast as the standard sword of its type.

It's the 2nd fastest sword there is, 1st being the backhand katana reward from AMP Map 3. Since the reward is completely useless due to its tiny size and radius, frost blade is the fastest useful sword. Very good for normal attacking.

note(s):
- my friend and i tested attack speed animation of the 2 swords, they were the same (7.15)
- damage per up was also tested and resulted in 80 max per up (again, like the katana and 7.15)


- Frost blades are slightly faster. I've tried this with a Frost Blade and Katana that has roughly the same base damage. Frost Blade resulted in a higher DPS overall.

- Frost blades do get 80 damage per upgrade, but Katanas get 83 damage per upgrade. This is meant to make up for the slower speed.

I have fully upgraded versions of both, and I found that Frost Blades give more DPS if you're mainly relying on normal attacking (no abilities).

Whats the reasoning behind this?

there is a trade off between fast weaps (katanas/frosts etc), kind-of-fast-weaps with higher dmg (demon swords, greatswords) and slow-but-strong weaps (hammers)

demonswords can get up to like 30-35k dmg, and attack a little bit slower, but the damage is considerably more than the 20-27k you will find on a fast weap (usually they have higher base dmg & they upgrade at +120 per lvl or w/e rather than +80)and so in terms of dps, end up doing more damage

in addition, they are more common / have better stats etc etc
