CPU usage up this patch?

DD usually uses 10% CPU or so for me but its WAAY up to 70% since the patch. Confirmed that many others are running 100% or close to it.

did i miss something?

Mine doesn't peak much above 25% on a quad core i5.

8 core AMD haven't noticed a change.
