Obviously the new content is totally messed up and horrible, so I'd like to make a team of level 70s in Godly gear with my friends and only play Insane and under. Alas, this is impossible because the level cap continues to go higher and higher and I can't turn off experience.
Please put in an option to turn off all experience gain.

So what you're saying is you suck too much for Nightmare?

why the hell would you not want xp?
I think if you make this option, people will start playing maps, and after a few hours gaming they realised the xp gain button was off, so they didn't level. it's just a strange option: you play a game so you can level up, and then you don't want xp? what's wrong with lvl 74?

Yes, because considering I've completed 99% of NM content including wave 26 of MM NM Survival MM, obviously that's why I want this option.

Having extra levels above level 70 makes it that much easier for insane content. I didn't have the opportunity to play during the release and only got this game in December during sales and I would like to be able to go back and play as a level 70 with Godly gear and try to conquer the game how it would have been prior to Mythical gear being released.
If someone is seriously stupid enough to turn on the Exp Off option and play for "a few hours" without realizing that they turned it off then obviously they deserve to not get exp for a "few hours".

Figure out how many points you get between 70-74 and just don't upgrade your gear by that many points. You're exaggerating when you say those points make a big difference. It's not many at all. I highly doubt Trendy would give us an XP Off option.

Dump the extra stats into something essentially useless like movement speed. Most decent godly gear will put you over the cap anyway.

just dont use the lvl up points you get. no stat lvls up unless you put points into it, or you get gear.

Forget it, trendy isn't even listening to good ideas.... why would they even bother with this?

Not leveling up works temporarily. I've done that myself. However, as soon as you decide you need to respec because your armor has a negative stat that you need to balance out or something like that you are forced to spend all the points and advance to your maximum level.

This.
It just seems like an extremely simple idea that wouldn't take long to implement and would help people enjoy old content at a competitive level.

Because you play certain characters with friends and want to experiment with new equipment, maps and strategies while staying the same level you were so as to not out-level your friend's characters.
I have a group of friends I run the campaign maps with who all have level 45ish characters and have to avoid playng one of my hunters so that the character will be available to play with them once a week and not out level them.

To level 74 is like 32 points. That's not significant. An option to not gain exp would be redundant considering the insignificance of that amount. It's all about not equipping mythical gear. Also, the game has changed a bit, mostly the active hero bonus and increased effect of upgrading towers. You got to keep that in mind when trying to play like it was just as it came out.

Do you think the only level someone might want to stay is level 70? I have had level 20 characters with enough xp to be level 70+ that I used to complete the entire campaign on hard and half of it on insane just to see what I could pull off and create some additional challenge for myself. Once you've beaten the game the normal way you need to think up new ways to limit yourself. Trying to do it all at a lower level is one way of doing that.

uhh...
just use godly gear and it will give you the exact same results. however, even using godly gear, at level 70 with my app i was able to blow through the insane campaign solo with no problems. all i had was a few pieces that i had gotten from a ramparts survival run with 50ish to tower stats and 40ish upgrade levels.
if you want it to be challenging, use something like, legendary. or amazing.

Neither of you are thinking of how to do this for the most fun correctly in my opinion. Simply start the campaign at deeper wells with absolutely nothing and a new character at lvl 1. This is by far the most fun way to play the game through imo. Set it to whatever difficulty you think you can do and totally forget you have any other characters or gear anywhere (i.e. don't get stuck and just swap to a different character for the uber towers, try and reason it through). Get a full group and it's really fun.

Play console before they patch it lol our best armor stats are 35 with bonus from 20ups and 9 base.....
WANT IT!
No one understands why having some NM enabled 74's i still have a lot of fun playing with my 72 'high-end' godly geared Countess, on Insane games with his 'crappy' 5K sword.
I have the inside purpose to see how far i can go without using any mythical gear. Atm i have 290 tower hp and 310 tower damage.

Yes, because that fulfills exactly what I'm looking for.

Lol
Its just upgraded high-end godlys. I tell much people "hey you should upgrade something" and they use to answer "im waiting to 74 to upgrade"
So they are useless along 73 levels, not even the pets are upgraded at least some levels

I personally would start with a lvl 1 character on Deeper wells insane and play through starting there. if thats too easy try playing it on nm at lvl 1

because right now that is NOT the end game content?
the actual end game content is NM and is for 74

Just play normally and leave 32 upgrades off your armor.

Except WoW has an exp off feature which is all I'm requesting, not a full vanilla reset.
Herp derp.

Ultimately it would be another thing to take up trendy's time. It would be much easier to not allocate those 32 points and only use godly... It would let trendy work on things for those of us who still enjoy nm...
