Hello.
While I'm playing Umf or survival my Steam friends list always disconnect and of course most of the time on the last wave.
This last week I have done Umf2 around 50 times and disconnected or creeps are bugged.
I'm getting sick and tired of this, using countless of hours on the same god damn map that I could have be done with along time ago.
What is causing this problem?
Why are we gonna disconnect every time friends list on Steam goes down?
I want an answer Trendy!
This game is nothing but frustration. I'm done with this game until this is fixed.

What is causing this problem?
Steam, or your connection to it.
Why are we gonna disconnect every time friends list on Steam goes down?
Because the Steam lobby system requires the Friends part of the community/network. The same issue arises with L4D/2 and other games using the Steam lobby.

You might want to try to fix your own (local) problems before blaming the game for what appears to be a connection issue. Steam may have issues, and go down fairly frequently for work, but generally speaking constantly dropping from Steam friends indiciates some sort of packet-loss issue.
Note: You can play with your status set to 'offline' provided you're still connected. Once you've joined a game, try setting it to offline (and get your friends to do so too) to see if it makes a difference -- it'll only lower the throughput slightly, but if packetloss is your issue, cutting down the packets might help you.
Also: If you're using voice chat external to DD, or even in DD, stop. Again, if it's packet loss, this could be tripping it.

I'm not the only one with this problem. Got a few friends who are playing this game aswell and have the same problem as me.
I'm using no voice chat external to DD, actually I only have DD running.
I have noticed that I can do all the other maps on DD without getting disconnected but when I play on Umf2 and survival this happens alot.

I never said you were alone... Anything with a large number of net entities (i.e. entities transmitted over the network) will increase the bandwidth. While I can happily play up to wave 26 of Misty without reconnecting, and simultaneously using Mumble (hardcapped at 50kb/s), others I know can't due to their upload speeds. What I'm suggesting is that you find ways to minimise the issue until it's fixed, even if it involves every except the host leaving and reconnecting between each wave.
My friends list has been going down an average of once an hour, so I can't really play the game any more. My firewall tells me daily that steamerrorreporter.exe needs to connect (I let it). Although the last time it came up was right after being disconnected, it's usually at different times. I am going to try to re-install and hope it was a bad update in the past.
Update:
Didn't help, but yesterday night it kept its connection for five hours straight, which was amazing. I have ping -t running in the background, hoping to see a disconnect when it goes down, but I never do. I don't have an IP/website to ping that corresponds to what the steam client uses for its connection, so the test could be considered a bit faulty, but it does seem to be isolated to Steam.

I've been having the same issue.
Playing with 5 friends, and about once an hour someone gets booted out of the game and told that their network connection is lost. (3 different continents, 4 different isps)
Here's the biggest headache, 2 of us are sitting in the same room talking to the other two via our private voice chat server.
Most of the time, only one of us gets dc'd at any given time (unless it's the host who drops). And we never even see any lag to the voice chat server.
I've been monitoring the connection between each of us and between the steam servers via ping.
No latency, no lag, no lost packets, not even a little bit of unnecessary jitter.
I can say with 100% certainty that this particular problem is not on the client side.
