Hello,
I'm spanish and a huge fan of Dungeon Defenders. I love the game but the spanish translation is totally powered by "google-translation". I was waiting for a good translate a few weeks after the release of the game, but the translation is still the same.
I can translate the game if you can give me the text files, just for the love that i have for this game. Trust me, the translation is horrible.
Let's take a look on the configuration menu, as a example:
· "Ahorrar" instead of "Guardar" (save). "Ahorrar" means "save money".
And there are tons more big mistakes on the translation, it sounds really bad. Remove the Spanish translation or fix it, but the translation like it is, is totally wrong.
In fact, i cant play the game on my native language because i cant understand lots of things. Is really annoying.
And sorry for my English, I tried my best.

I don't think that they google translated it; my theory is that they just handed a pure text file to some translation agency that is not related to video gaming. Trust me, the german translation is horrible as well; the weapon "Ogre Party Hat", for example, has been translated with "Menschenfresser Partei Hut", which means as much as "sombrero del partido de los caníbales".
Also, as opposed to english (and this is a problem in many games with randomly rolled names), in german you'd need to inflect parts of the name depending on the context. An "Amazing electric forgiveness Spade", for example, is currently translated as "Erstaunlich Elektrisch Vergebungsspaten", as opposed to "Erstaunlicher elektrischer Spaten der Vergebung" (not that this would sound good, either - but at least it'd be grammatically correct). The options menu seems to be the same as in english: "Save" has been translated with "Sparen" (to save money) instead of "Speichern" or "Sichern", and that's only the tip of the iceberg.
"Mom's Crossbow", just to name another fun example, is currently translated with "Armbrust an meine Mutter", which literally means "Crossbow to my Mom" (instead of "Mutter's Bogen").
Same here, by the way - just give me the text files and I'd gladly translate them. Couldn't really help with the random item name generator since this would require coding changes, but at least we could improve the experience of thousands of german users with a few simple changes. It's ok for people who can just switch to english (although we have to do this again after every single update, which is rather annoying), but lots of people do only know their native language (and I'm fairly sure that the translation is also screwed in other languages). I'd gladly help with a german translation as well.
@OP: Thanks for bringing the issue up! I've commented on it several weeks ago already, but the discussion died out rather quickly. This issue really needs to be discussed.

I don't speak Spanish, but I'm sure you know what you're talking about with regard to the translation. If you want to change it, you can download the "Dungeon Defenders Development Kit (Free DLC)" from the steam DLC list.
From there, you can go to <steam location>\steamapps\common\dungeon defenders\UDKGame\Localization\ESN and change the ESN files to have the correct translations. You can check out the following for getting the DDDK set up to test the translation changes on your machine: DDDK Getting Started Guide (http://forums.trendyent.com/showthread.php?22746-Dungeon-Defenders-Development-Kit-Basic-Overview). You can also check out the modding forum if you have further questions.
Since they have so few developers they might not be able to prioritize fixing this, but if you take the initiative to correct it on your own, I can't imagine they wouldn't be willing to correct the translation. (this is my opinion, and I'm in no way a representative of Trendy)

Thank you for answering.
I didn't knew that. I will try with the Development Kit then. Thank you again for the tip.
