Hi,

I bought my son dungeon defenders for x-mas. He has since been leveling multiple characters. A ranger 59, squire 62, apprentice 71, and monk 36. His username on steam is Badman02. These characters are all in the open class playing not the trendynet style. All of those characters disappeared today after the he was playing the 300 mod and the game crashed stating out of memory. Why would his characters disappear of the game crashed? Can we get these characters back?

Thanks,

Brent

Hello!
It is my understanding that Trendynet does not save your local hero files, they are saved on your computer. There is a thread here http://forums.trendyent.com/showthread.php?6296-Steam-How-to-Back-Up-your-PC-OPEN-LOCAL-Saves that has information on how to back up your local character files. You can attempt to look for this files and place them back into the correct folder and they should appear in game under the local character selection. If you are unable to recover your deleted characters that way my best suggestion would be to make sure you back-up your new character files to a safe location, like a USB drive or something of that nature that is separate from your computer. Also keep in mind that if you only back-up your character files once, then if you ever replace them, your character will become the same as the back-up ones, for example, you pick up a cool staff, sometimes happens and you have to replace your character files from ones you back-up last week, you will lose that staff and anything else you have gained during that week of game play. You can attempt to contact Trendynet at lostheroes@trendyent.com but I'm not sure if they can do anything for your local files, but at least it won't cost you anything to send an e-mail.
