View Full Version : You know what I like doing?

I like taking my low level mage (lvl 31) and joining games with complete noobs. You know why? Because they typically don't know the other side (PC) and I never hear them complain. They are just in there enjoying the game and it reminds me of my earlier DD days of "ignorance is bliss". It makes me enjoy the game again and not worry about the "end game" grinding. It's fun seeing people try out different tower strategies (not the same one again and again) even if I know we're gonna fail that map with the setup. It's also fun to see characters with weapons that no one in their right mind would use. It's fun to hear the excitement when they pick up a rather poor quality weapon but it's much better than what they have. I love it.
I suggest you all do that sometime... oh and don't start selling their towers and building lvl 70 towers in a Medium Servants quarters game. That would just be pointless and rude.
C'mon peeps. Just enjoy the game.
Then its the end of there first day of playing....
They are level 70 and wondering where the rest of the game is.
Now you must find new first days players.
Sounds like fun.
I greatly enjoy the game on console myself, I feel I got my moneys worth out of it.... but if you don't understand peoples frustration, I simply don't know what to say to you. You cannot even go to the DD homepage without seeing cool things you will never get on the console.
If given the choice again, I would have bought the game on PC. But I will not buy the same game twice. Had no reason to think the games would not have the same content minus a few speciality items/pets like most cross system games.

oh I do understand the frustration. I would LOVE to have all that extra DD goodness on my console side. Even though I know I can't have it, I choose to play the console side for more than one reason but that's besides the point.
Honestly though, if you had no idea that there was a PC version wouldn't you be fine and dandy with what's currently on the console? THAT is what I enjoy about playing with noobs. They enjoy the game that they paid very little money for in the whole scheme of things. They typically let anyone join and they have fun playing. They don't kick you because you have mismatching armor or if you aren't specifically built as a DPS build. They typically don't even know what that is.
All I'm saying is have fun and stop worrying about everything because that's what sucks the fun out of the game. Oh and also, once you have "finished" the game, don't you think that you got $15 worth out of it? If so, then move on. It's not like there aren't other gaming options out there.

I would rather be bitter that Trendy never gave any foreshadowing whatsoever that the PC and Console games would be any different.

level 70 in one day? That is some power leveling that would make the game no fun. I have been plugging away off and on a couple hours a day for a week and I am nowhere near level 70. If you got to level 70 on your first day I suggest finding other activities to occupy your time and that way the game would last longer.
Trendy is setting some sort of record for least money paid to most whining ratio. For 10-15 dollars for the game people are complaining as if they bought a lemon at a used car lot. The complaining is not even justified, as these people should be complaining to microsoft. Microsoft owns both the operating system for the PC and the operating system for the Xbox 360. They are the ones that make it so difficult to update both OS's for the same game and they are also the ones that make it crazy expensive to update xbox 360 games.
From an outsiders perspective, the amount of time people play this game and the rate at which they complain about it compared to the hours of enjoyment it has provided them... makes them look like a bunch of homesar's.

You right,
That was 4-5 hours I could of spent donating my time to a animal shelter.
And in no way was I "power leveling" my first character. Seems to me we have a different understanding on how to play the game. Because at your rate "couple hours a day" I could leveled 2 different accounts easily to have 1 level 70 each just playing through the game.

Its got "little" to do with the price of the game. It is the differences between consoles and PC, Hell the console version is more expensive. Before you even factor in the less content. But if we had the same content you would hear little to no complaining about the pricing.
So your comment is moot.

It is apparent that our priorities differ in a pretty extreme degree.

7-14 hours, no help, and no prior knowledge of the game... 2 level 70's? I call bull****.

Oh and by the way, Animal Shelters are an awesome way to volunteer your time. Very rewarding helping the helpless. With your uber skills maybe you can teach a puppy to make a level 70 dps huntress in 4 minutes.

Really.....
You are the true meaning of "casual gamer". many have done this.....

Really going to makes this personal. Grow up? k?
Oh and btw, My DPS huntress took 2 1/2 hours from 1-70. So to teach a dog I am geussing 4 hours, 1.5 of that teaching it not to sniff my butt.
A ill-mannered monkey would have to plug away at it at least a couple hours a day for a week and still be not anywhere near 70.

Not that far out of the question. Sure the average person isn't going to do this, but someone that is a HC RPG player will quickly catch on and be level 70 in no time.

Hey Kid,
I am not going to get into my own personal merits or have a conversation about whose wang is spelled with a capital W. Sorry I got your feathers ruffled, but I am pretty sure I made some jokes, you couldn't handle them, and you used that as a jump off to make personal comments about me.
My in game time is currently at just over 8 hours. To tell me you could roll into this game with no previous knowledge of it, no help, play for that 8 hours and have 2 level 70's, cries of embellishment. To tell me I am a casual gamer because I didn't do that... well that is just outlandish, far fetched, and immature.
And I have no idea what kind of advantage a hardcore RPG gamer would have over me. I haven't seen a challenging RPG for a long long time.
I will stop now, as this is no way to start out on a forum. Feel free to continue mocking me, but it doesn't change the fact that Istill do not believe you. In fact, I would be willing to bet you spent at least 4 hours at the forge and tavern in building your first 70.
I wasn't kidding about the animal shelter either, you are on to something. I just wouldn't take out your clear uber gamer angst on some poor unsuspecting puppy. That would be wrong.
Oh and btw, if anyone wants to play with a low level definition of a casual gamer and an animal shelter enthusiast, my GT is U1tram3gachickn. I want to play with people of my level though and not be helped out by capped players.

Hey Kid, way to be mature...
And I have no idea what kind of advantage a hardcore RPG gamer would have over me. I haven't seen a challenging RPG for a long long time.
They would quickly find the best possible place to loot and level. Obviously you didn't do that, and thats ok.

I made no claims at being mature.
If you have no knowledge of the game, it takes some time to figure out where the best place to loot and level is. In fact, it takes quite a bit of time to unlock all the levels.
I do believe you can level a character very quickly, there is no doubt there. You just can't do it the way I qualified it.
and I sir am a well mannered monkey, please get it right next time. I am also perhaps a foolish monkey for goading you. I am sorry.

I am a 34 year old kid, and loving it,
You are the one riled up and got personal, not I.
Is it time to bring out the "Umadbro"'s yet?

Funny, I and many others have with no help whatsoever. Seems I hit a nerve on the casual gamer thing. It was not meant as a insult. Just a observation.

Ask the puppy who started the mocking. All I did was make a observation about the kind of gamer you are. Apparently you find that offensive. Who knew?

Oh look, More of that mocking. Go you? I am such Uber gamer I have still not done MM on insane, I am the pro. When you "assume" you make a "*** out of U and Me" <--- See what I did there!
Also good job doing it yourself.... Like I did myself.

Yes about 4-7 hours for many people, longer for others.

Goading is just a fancy word for trolling.
