steam, multible accounts?

Question 1: Can I create more than one local savegame account, so more than one player can use the same pc? It looks like there are room for up to 4 accounts, but I can only activate one.

Question 2: How to set up multiplayer splitscreen on a PC?

To answer both. You can only run ONE account a time. You can split screen from that one account.

IE. Your steam account has 4 chars. If you have 3 XBOX360 controllers/PC compatible controllers, you can split screen with those 4 characters..

What Dreamcaster said or if you have a really powerful machine it is technically possible to use Sandboxie to have another Steam account to dual box. Note though you would have to purchase the game again in order to do this.

So basically, I have to buy the game two times in order to have two players using the same computer? And then, since the computer isn't that strong, those two accounts cannot be used to multiplay at the same time... That's really not cool at all :( Is it the same for xbox360?

I have multiple accounts, and ive installed Sandboxie (Virtualbox lacks compatability to launch due to shader issues) and while i can get it logged in and working fine, 2 entirely seperate instances in every sense, i can only create 1 lobby.

I can be playing a game, and join a shop, or join my own server, but i cant create one. I instantly get the message 'Failed to create game server'. If i close my primary acct server and sit in the server listings, i can create an AFK shop/lobby, but the primary account is then under the same restrictions.

2 steam accounts, 2 DD licenses. Until today i'd been running it on a microserver, as a 24/7 AFK shop, but its a PITA KVM'ing back n forth, and my machine is more than capable of BitCoin mining both GPUs and playing DD, however i cant dual host, and seeing as i can have both online at the same time, the restriction seems to be quite specific, so i wondered if one of the techies might know what the issue is, and if its resolvable? maybe ive missed a sandboxie setting??
